Cutting the keyboard cord

Welcome to LAC!  Since you have found your way to our blog, you probably know a thing or two about who we are and why we have set up this absolutely gorgeous site for your viewing and reading pleasure.  Nonetheless, we hope you continue to visit as we eventually find our way into new countries and immerse ourselves into unfamiliar cultures… and foods.

As two people in our mid-twenties who wanted to cut our keyboard cords and see the world, I think of us as fortunate.  The reason why?  I believe that the hardest part about doing something new and possibly life-changing is the simple decision to make it happen.  I also believe that the vast majority of people who have any interest in partaking in something new and life-changing don’t have the balls to make that decision.  I certainly did not.  I required a stern kick forward in that direction to make things happen, but so far it seems to be working out for the better!

With three months left to go before we board our one-way flight to Hong Kong, I think I would describe my sentiment as… anxious.  Not only am I anxious to experience world travel (the extent of my traveling so far has been Canada, Hawaii, many states in the U.S., and the extreme tourist spots of Mexico), but I am also apprehensive to adapt to a traveler’s lifestyle I know nothing about.  Nonetheless, I have faith that making this decision and stepping out of my comfort zone will prove to be an awesome and eye-opening time of my life!
