How do you say “Faux-hawk” in Cambodian?

faux-hawk

With 6 weeks left to go, I’ve been thinking a lot about the little things that I will encounter for the upcoming trip.

Getting my first haircut where my stylist doesn’t speak English should be an interesting experience. I’ll need to look up “faux-hawk”, “scissor cut” and “fade”. The easiest way around this would probably be to go for the shaved head look, but I have an odd-shaped head. I wouldn’t want to distract from my beautiful pictures with my odd-shaped head.

I most likely will not drive for the entire year that we’re gone. That’s very strange. I didn’t drive much during my Freshman year of college; when I started driving again, I was noticeably worse at it. It will be interesting to see if I miss driving, and if not being able to hop in a car and drive somewhere bothers me. I have a feeling I won’t notice at all.

I’ve also been thinking about buying soap, shampoo, hair gel, toothpaste and deodorant. I imagine Dove, Pert Plus, Dep , Aquafresh and Old Spice are not the market share leaders in Thailand. Just randomly picking a brand should be a fun experience. Perhaps I’ll find that wonder product that causes my hairline to stop receding, my teeth to be as white as snow, and that magically keeps my pits dry for days on end.

  1. Looks like an awesome trip Jason!

The deodorant here definitely sucks, haha, I’ll have to keep experimenting.

    Congrats for taking the leap!
